Standing Still in the Spinning

It has been fourteen months now. A whole fourteen months since we started waiting on baby girl to come home.

Wow.

Life just keeps moving on, and doesn't wait.

Life doesn't wait for families to be together... or children to be with their daddies and mommies.

I watch the world spin around me, and see babies being born, and families growing. Newborns growing into babies that are crawling, walking, and talking.

I wonder what I have missed in A's life in the last 14 months?

What does she think is funny?

What makes her smile?

What makes her cry?

Her favorite activity?

Does she want a daddy and mummy?

Is she happy?

Does her ayah(caregiver) get sad when she thinks of A going to a forever family?

We're waiting here for you, baby girl.

We are missing you big time.

XOXO,
Daddy and Mummy

  3. It is a heartache to tear another page off the calendar. I love this picture though, and I pray that she will look at it with love someday, knowing how she was loved and prayed for from afar.

  4. GREAT picture of you two!! Colista I know how you feel and it STINKS. I am so, so sorry that you have been waiting so long, and that you've been missing out on A's life. I went through a period where I was really, really struggling with this. I used to pray out loud the verse from Hosea where God promises that He will restore what was lost. I'm Praying that for you sweet friend!!! (Along with the NOC!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  8. it will happen, hang in there. We waited 17 months since accepting referral to being united with our son on the 18th of February :) Don't dwell on what you missed and believe me when I say that when she will be in your arms you will forget about the long wait.
